On June 19, the 2025 Education Conference of the "One Belt, One Road" International Medical Education Cooperation Platform was successfully held.
China Medical University successfully held the 2025 Education Conference of the "One Belt, One Road" International Medical Education Cooperation Platform and the Second Congress of the Third Council.
The theme of the conference was "Educational evaluation for excellence, compassionate caregivers for the future." Experts and scholars from 10 countries at home and abroad participated in this conference. Fifteen medical education experts and scholars delivered keynote speeches. The meeting was chaired by Professor Qu Bo, a member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China Medical University and vice president.
Professor Wang Zhenning, deputy party secretary and president of the Chinese Medical University, attended the opening ceremony of the Education Conference and delivered a speech. He stressed that the "One Belt, One Road" international medical education cooperation platform has always adhered to the principles of voluntary, equal, cooperative and development, and is committed to promoting global medical education resource sharing, complementarity, mutual benefit and coordinated development. Guided by the vision of "education evaluation to promote excellence, compassionate medical practitioners to create a future," this conference has always taken it as its responsibility to promote the construction of a regional medical education community, build a multinational network of medical leading talent training, and channel talented cadres for regional health governance. The Medical University of China will make every effort to help the platform jump from scale growth to value creation, build a new ecosystem of medical education cooperation with countries along the routes, and write a new chapter in the practice of building a human health community.
Professor Wang Weimin, Vice President of the Western Pacific Medical Education Association of the World Federation of Medical Education, Deputy Director of the National Center for Medical Education Development, Chairman of the Medical Education Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, and Deputy Medical Director of Peking University attended the opening ceremony of the education conference and delivered a speech. He pointed out that we must continue to serve the national initiative, cultivate exceptional medical talent as the core, deepen medical education coordination as the main line, promote the deep integration of medical education with scientific and technological innovation and industrial transformation, and build a modern medical education system with Chinese characteristics and world-class standards. We look forward to working hand in hand with colleagues at home and abroad to jointly address global health challenges and make new and greater contributions to human health.
Prof. Akmal Sidikov, President of Ferghana Medical College of Public Health, Uzbekistan, attended the opening ceremony of the Education Conference and delivered a congratulatory message on behalf of the overseas member institutions of the platform. He said that China has set an example for the development of medical education globally with its remarkable strategic vision and pragmatic actions. From top-level design to grassroots practice, from policy opening to resource endowment, China has not only built an internationally competitive medical education system, but also used the Belt and Road Initiative as a link to continuously channel quality resources and innovative ideas around the world. This open and inclusive mindset and steadfast commitment to advancing human health and well-being through education is admirable.
The conference held the hiring ceremony for the writers' team for the "Belt and Road" national medical education research curriculum. Professor Wang Zhenning was appointed as the chief editor, and Professor Wang Weimin and Professor Sun Baozhi, former vice president of the Medical University of China, were appointed as chief reviewers. The compilation of this series aims to systematically comb through national medical education along with innovative research, and provide academic support for policy formulation and educational reform cooperation. The project has received strong support from the People's Health Publishing House, and its first volume, "Research Report on the Belt and Road National Medical Education System," has been officially published in the People'S Health Publishing House.

The report of "The Belt and Road" international medical education cooperation platform 2025 education conference was presented by Professor Muhammad Shahbaz, President of China-Pakistan Medical Association, Professor Zeng Min, Vice President of Hainan Medical University, Professor Maksatbek Anarbaev, Vice-President of the International University of Kyrgyzstan, Professor Liu Jiqiang, Vice-Minister of Medicine at Wuhan University, Professor Kolomemov Nodirbek, Vice-Principal of the School of Public Health Medicine in Fergana, Uzbekistan, and Professor Li Xueping, Vice-Chancellor of the Xi'an Medical School, presided.
On the evening of June 18, the Youth Scholars Forum for the 2025 Education Conference of the "One Belt, One Road" International Medical Education Cooperation Platform convened at Liaoning Building. The meeting was chaired by Professor Deng Yu, President of the Institute for Medical Education Evaluation and Reform of the Medical University of China.
Professor Qu Bo attended the opening of the Young Scholars Forum and delivered a speech. On behalf of the Medical University of China, he extends a warm welcome to all the distinguished guests who have come to this forum for young scholars. He also said that the "One Belt, One Road" international medical education cooperation platform should be turned into an iconic and leading platform to promote the talents of young talents in medical education from all countries in the world, and promote the dream, mission, responsibility and contribution of youth.

On the same day, the second congress of the third council of the "One Belt, One Road" international medical education cooperation platform was held, attended by 82 governing units of the platform. The Assembly adopted amendments to the statute of the cooperation platform and adopted applications for six units to join the platform: the Kyrgyz National Medical University, the Dui Health Sciences University of Pakistan, the University of Punjab, the National Medical University of Perm, the International Medical University of Malaysia and the China-Pakistan Medical Association.
Professor Wang Zhenning, representative of the board of directors, summarized the work of the platform in 2024 and released the work plan for 2025. Wang Zhenning pointed out that since 2024, the scale of the cooperation platform has continued to grow and its influence has steadily climbed. An international conference on medical education was held, strengthening personnel and professional exchanges. Under the framework of the platform, close exchanges and cooperation among member organizations have been carried out, the "Cloud Classroom" project has been continuously implemented, and the activities of "Deputy Chairmen's Rotation Month" have been comprehensively implemented. In the future, the cooperation platform will further improve connectivity and sharing, continue to build an open cooperation platform, continue to hold high-quality education conferences, and promote new breakthroughs in the construction of a human health community. The governing bodies jointly watched the platform's seventh anniversary documentary, "Building Faith, Working Together - Promoting Steady Progress in High-Quality Belt and Road Cooperation" and took a photo to reflect on it. Professor Zhong Hongshan, Secretary General of the Platform and Vice President of the Medical University of China, chaired the meeting.
At this point, the cooperation platform covers 107 units in 27 countries around the world, covering countries and regions in East Asia, Central Asia, the CIS and Africa.
