Pakistan Railways increases train fares
LAHORE – The Pakistan Railways has enhanced fares by five percent on all freight train from December 1.
As per the notification issued on Wednesday, total fares will be rounded off as per the previous practice.
However, this increase will not be applicable on Cargo Express 501-UP/502-DN and 503-UP/504-DN.
“All freight rates will be increased by 5pc across the board and will be levied on all Goods Traffic w.e.f 01-12-2023 at 12.00 AM. Total freight will be rounded off as per previous practice. However, this increase will NOT be applicable on Cargo Express”, reads the notification issued by PR’s Chief Marketing Manager.
In September 2023, PR increased fares of all passenger trains following rise in prices of petroleum products.
