Pakistan Army & CTD in a special operation captured 9 terrorists from Quetta

Quetta: Pakistan Army & CTD in a special operation captured 9 terrorists from Quetta. The Operation was carried out by Pakistan Army and Counter terrorism Department.Two separate intelligence based operations were carried out simultaneously in the southwestern Balochistan province.

Balochistan shares a porous border with Iran and Afghanistan and has witnessed a prolonged low-level insurgency led by Baloch separatists who blame Pakistan’s federal government for exploiting the province’s mineral resources without giving back much in return.

The captured terrorists belong to BLA and TTP and Daesh. They were planning attacks on Chinese and China Pakistan Economic Corridor projects in Gwadar, Panjgur, Quetta and other locations kept secret for security reasons. Pakistan Army and CTD is planning more operation in the region to combat the terrorism and specially defuse the anti-Pakistan and anti-CPEC propaganda by the banned organization.

The Police Deputy Inspector General (DIG) said the security of Chinese nationals working on mega energy projects in Upper Kohistan District had been enhanced. 

Last week Five Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorists were killed during an operation by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in the Aghbarg area of Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan, on September 7. According to a statement released by the CTD, an operation was planned over information provided by a TTP terrorist, identified as Naseebullah, who was in custody. The CTD added that during the course of an investigation, he revealed the presence of his associates in Quetta and divulged that they were “in advance planning of carrying out a terrorist activity in Quetta soon”. The statement highlighted that the slain alleged terrorists were involved in the killing of officials of the Eagle Squad and CTD in Kuchlak and Frontier Corps personnel at the Kuchlak Bypass. A cache of weapons including a suicide jacket were recovered during the operation.
