Pakistan Shageens clinch the Super Over thriller against Bangladesh A in Doha on Sunday night to become the Asia Cup Rising Stars Champions for the record third time.

After both teams were tied at 125 on the completion of their innings, the outcome of the final was decided in the Super Over.

Shaheens achieved the seven-run target given by Bangladesh A on the fourth ball of the Super Over to win the Asia Cup Rising Stars final. Ahmed Daniyal was named Player of the Match. Maaz Sadaqat was named Player of the Series for his consistent good performance both with the ball and the bat throughout the tournament.

Chasing a modest 126-run target for victory, Bangladesh managed to finish at 125/9 despite losing nine wickets with 96 runs on the board in 17.2 overs. Opener Habibur Rahman Sohan was the top scorer with 26 off 17 balls, hitting three fours and two maximums. Rakibul Hasan contributed 24 off 21 balls, SM Meherob 19 off 21 balls, Abdul Gaffar Saqlain 16 off 12 balls, and Ripon Mondol 11 off nine balls.

Sufiyan Muqeem bagged three wickets, and Arafat Minhas and Ahmed Daniyal two each, while Saad Masood and Maaz Sadaqat took one wicket apiece.

After being asked to bat first, Pakistan Shaheens kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were bundled out for 125 on the last ball of the innings.

Saad Masood was the highest scorer for Shaheens with 38 off 26 balls, laced with three fours and three maximums. Arafat Minhas made 25 off 23 balls, hitting four boundaries. Maaz Sadaqat contributed 23 off 18 balls with the help of two fours and one maximum. No other batter could enter the double figures.

Ripon Mondol was the pick of the bowlers with the figures of three for 25. Rakibul Hasan took two wickets, and SM Meherob, Jishan Alam and Abdul Gaffar Saqlain one each, while Yasir Khan and Ahmed Daniyal were run out.
