KARACHI – With incidents of banking fraud on the rise, the Banking Ombudsman has issued an important public advisory to protect citizens from financial losses and raise awareness about growing cybercrime threats.

In recent years, cybercrimes have expanded rapidly, with banking-related frauds becoming increasingly common. Fraudsters continue to exploit unsuspecting individuals through new and deceptive tactics, often depriving them of their lifelong savings.

The Banking Ombudsman serves as an institution that addresses complaints from victims of such frauds. According to the spokesperson for the Banking Ombudsman, thousands of affected customers have already been compensated this year.

Between January and October, a total of 28,704 bank customers received relief, with a combined amount of Rs1.46 billion returned to them after successful resolution of their cases.
